Not just his films, but S P Jananathan himself is revolutionary. Now that Tamil Nadu is going to elect its rulers today, the ‘E’ and ‘Peranmai’ director has made an appeal to the voters.

The filmmaker has requested the people of the State to use clause 49(O) in case they don’t want to vote in favour of any particular political party or candidate, in the Assembly elections.

“Voting in 49 (O) doesn’t mean we are shying away from our democratic duty. More number of votes for 49 (O) means people are ready for a sea change in the political set up of the nation,” he said.

It is to be noted that Jananathan’s last venture ‘Peranmai’, which had ‘Jayam’ Ravi in the lead, had some fiery remarks on the rulers and the ‘wrong’ practices being adopted by them.
